Maynooth Furniture

Adobe XD Course
Project Overview
A fictional client called Maynooth who sells affordable high-end design furniture wanted to build an e-commerce website and app to market their furniture. In this practical course, I was tasked with building a wireframe, a high fidelity prototype, conduct user tests, and build UI assets for developers. Using Adobe XD I created the website and app for a user persona, Katherine; A style and price conscious middle aged lady who's kids have moved out. She is now looking to remodel her home and uses Pinterest to gather interior design ideas.
My Contributions
The client and the user personas were created by the course instructor. Throughout the course, the instructor would give step-by-step Adobe XD lessons on wireframing and prototyping. With these lessons, I was tasked with fulfilling the Maynooth furniture requirements.

PROCESS
The Udemy course "User Experience Design Essential - Adobe XD UI UX Design" took us through the steps to create an e-commerce website from scratch. In each section Daniel, the course instructor used his instructor HQ website as an example to teach us the fundamentals of navigating Adobe XD . At the end of each lesson it was up to us to create Maynooth Furnitures.

We started off by creating a prototype that consisted of low fidelity wireframes along with interaction elements. We then went on to create a moodboard which was used as inspiration to create a high fidelity prototype. We then created a mobile version of our website and added micro interactions to both prototypes. Finally we tested our prototype on users and exported the project to create developer assets.

Throughout the entire process, I use the Udemy deliverables interface to provide feedback to others and social media to receive feedback on my own prototypes. I tested my prototypes on a participant with similar characteristics to Katherine.

TEST
To test the prototypes, I conducted a study consisting of two parts. Firstly I tasked the participant to purchase a product while thinking out loud about their interaction with the prototype. I then asked them three interview questions regarding what they liked and disliked about the prototype. The script and results and can be found below.
